Job Summary:
The Technical Sales Specialist, Residential Systems is a new position created by our client’s rapid growth within the North American residential battery market. Reporting to the Residential Sales Director (based in CA) the Technical Sales Specialist will be responsible for providing technical sales support related to residential battery systems installation and operation within North America, and other tasks as delegated by the Director.

These activities include but are not limited to:
Establishing, maintaining and developing relationships with a large number of certified installers, equipment partners, consultants and market data providers

Ensure installers’ needs are fully understood and that plans are being followed to meet expectations. Key focus areas will be the overall system into which our battery is installed, and inverters that the our battery is matched with.

Identify areas where our support is not meeting expectations and in conjunction with the Director implement a recovery plan.

Under the direction of the Director, identify opportunities to grow our residential business in NA via new markets, products & partnerships

Develop an understanding of the NA residential battery market including key geographical markets, supporting legislative initiatives, competitors, and technologies. Become familiar with battery systems and the main elements of an integrated energy storage system.

Establish effective relationships with key our personnel based in HQ and within our team based in the US

The successful candidate will require an understanding of distribution and/or reseller channel partner sales. He/she must be able to identify clients’ needs, generate solutions and respond to customer requests in a timely manner.

This requires the individual to have highly effective communications capabilities, time management skills and the ability to develop and nurture effective relationships with customers. The role will be within a fast-paced, team-oriented, international business.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be comfortable working within a North American regional organization with specialized technical and commercial support from our HQ associates.

Primary responsibilities include:
Proactive engagement with pre-eminent installers to ensure their personnel have an effective product awareness of our residential battery products, with a main focus on installation, safe handing, and operations.

Identify areas where additional product awareness training is required

Timely responses to customer requests for technical support product inquiries

Arrange installer/customer/partner meetings as needed

Provide sales and technical training to product users via webinars and in-person
Support installer marketing events

Actively keep internal and external documentation up to date

Comfortable working beyond normal office hours as required to meet customer expectations; an ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory (up to 50%).
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess:
Minimum of 3-5 years work experience in an equipment sales support / service role or equivalent, with demonstrated experience in delivering support services to customers
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, and presentation
A Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent, in a technical discipline is desirable
Prior solar/energy industry experience strongly preferred
